In this modern era, most of the social media user is active
user, someone who do “thinking” after received informative, active in mind and
believe that it’s his or her choice whether to take the information or not. For
some people, social network like Facebook has become part of their life but for
me, I’m kind of tired of it because most of the information posted nowadays is
so information-less. People posts about their meals, selfies with irrelevant
caption, pets and tons of stuff that is meaningless (at least for me it is
meaningless). That’s actually one of the reason I’ve reduced using social
networking site like Facebook nowadays. In these days, what happening is people
start taken break on social sites like Facebook and twitter because people are
getting tired of overshares, being contacted by people they don’t want to talk
to and keep being hit by other people’s thoughts.
Will media contents affect the audiences? Yes, of course. For
example, the way we perceive beauty. We perceive slim and tall as the standard
of beauty as the media always portrays slim and tall model in fashion shows,
slim and tall girls as the lead role in drama. Another example is the hottest
trend now in Asia, which is the kpop, a.k.a Korean pop. People try to dress
like a Korean, learn their language, and even Korean cuisine. Besides, media
also affect the people preference of entertainment. Actually, media contents
has shape almost every aspect of our life and in some way it help in increasing
our life’s quality.
