Can the Malaysian social media be censored? my answer is no, Malaysia's social media would not be censored. Why do I say so? Firstly, according to our previous prime minister which is Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, he had made a promise to the world that Malaysia would never censored the Internet when Malaysia was developing the multimedia Super Corridor. Secondly, social media censorship will not help our country, in the sense that the image of our country will be affected if the government ever decide to censored the social media. Thirdly, if Malaysia really want to progress and achieve the vision and mission of 2020, I suggest that this country really needs a free press that shows maturity in the progress, I really do not want to see my country moving backward.

Not only that, even youngster like me are very into social media if the government wants to censored the social media, I'm afraid there will be an uproar among the youngster in Malaysia i believe it will turn into an big havoc in the country. Internet is also where student use to search for information and do research and assignments. Malaysia education system really needs internet to help it to improve in way of running the whole system and not only depend on traditional media. Now a days, the way student are receiving information are different compared to last time, students are so much smarter, greater knowledge of the society and more matured compared to years before. Time has changed, we are not as naive as before so the "Censorship laws should not be weakened but in fact should be strengthen in Malaysia.

Why do I consume social networking sites? It is a place where I'm able to share and connect information with people, and it is also a place where I'm able to learn more things. Personally I'm a high usage of Twitter, Whatsapp, Facebook and Instagram, I access to it almost everyday, hour and minutes. The reason i use Facebook is because it is a place where I'm able to share information from youtube links, media updated news and so on and it is a place where I get most of the information from. For twitter, I normally use it more to connect with friends and as for Whatsapp it is so much easier for me to text people anywhere and anytime and I don't have to pay so much compared to the old text messengers that we used. For instagram, it is a place where I'm most active compared to others. I really love using Instagram, it allows me to get updated things about my friends and celebrities that I didn't know about.

So, to me internet is very important for this generation and as for us we should not take it for granted or simply misuse it. We should be careful and be wise in everything we share or post online.
