It's more than having been born to this country named Honduras; it's knowing its culture an tradition. We have a formidable geographic location, envied by many for it is the mid point of th Americas and having access to two great oceans; the Pacific an the Atlantic. To be Honduran means enjoying home-made meals: red beans are never absent and corn tortillas that go from the stove top to the table. Honduran baleadas are a special treat and a must in the Honduran diet. (Flour tortillas with refried red beans and white butter).
To be Honduran one must visit downtown Tegucigalpa and feel identified with its many historical buildings. One could say that each building makes for a piece of our history and are all vital to our national identity.
To be Honduran means, not only wearing the white and blue shirt during the World Cup; it's knowing taht every Honduran can reach beyond his/her dreams. It is a feeling and an awareness of identity...shouting to the world who we are and where we come from!
Honduras is a rich country in many ways: natural beauty, tradition and culture. For this and for much more, those of us who were born in Honduras can say that we are Proudly Catrachos!
