Can the Malaysian social media be censored?
for me, the answer is no.Malaysia's social media can not be censored. The first reason i would say that is because social media is too important for now a days. Our PM , repeat his promise of no internet censorship on 2011 april 24. This is because now Malaysia is developing our Multimedia Super Corridor. Secondly, most of the Malaysian is now using social media, even our PM is using twitter. So if Malaysia's social media being censored, this will cause many problem and uproar among Malaysian especially the youngster. Nowadays, college student, university student and most of the student in Malaysia use social media to collect information, news for their assignment and homework purpose. If social media be censored, how can they finish their assignment and works? Social media is now consider as the most important and main way for people to get information and news from it. So I think Malaysia's social media will not be censored.
This picture show that the percentage of people using social media nowadays.
What, How, Why do you consume social networking sites?
I use social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp, We-chat and some more else.Facebook, which is the social media that i most often to use. Normally I can update my friend's activity and how is their life going on Facebook. Sometimes it can also remind me my friend's birthday and some important event. And its almost the same on Twitter as well. For instagram, I can see my friend's photo and some of the celebrities's update information there. For Whatsapp and We-chat, i normally use to contact my friend. It is totally free if there is internet connection available. It can help me to save more money compare to the text message we sent last time. Apart from that, I always uses Google to search for information. We can search anything from Google, i can use it to finish my assignment and research. For me, social media is already part of my life. It would be very inconvenient if there is no such thing like social media.
